Goonda

The word takes its Origin from "gaad maharaj " of banaras. These were the people who by tradition use to make 'Bhaang-the nectar of Bholenath ' at the ghats of ganges. These people use to be in full masti and josh after a dose of bhaang. There care free attitude irked many as they were considered lawless by muslim rulers,more so ever they were the one who defended the famous vishawnath temple during that era when it was a common practise of muslim rulers to make mosque by breaking the temple or next to temple.
